BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
Santa will be here again for the third annual Breakfast with Santa on December 5th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Community Center. Have your kids pictures made with Santa, and enjoy a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, milk, coffee, or juice sponsored by Friends of the Library. Proceeds from this event have been used to purchase children's books for the library.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS BASKET SILENT AUCTION
Friends of the West Fork Library will again hold their Annual Christmas Basket Silent Auction fundraiser. If you would like to bid on a basket come by after Thanksgiving and see all the items to choose from. If you would like to prepare a basket for us to auction, please bring it by anytime.
BOOK SIGNING AT THE LIBRARY
Susan Culp, author of 50 Frogs, 5 Babes and a Bulldog, will be autographing and selling copies of her book on Saturday, December 5th at the library from 1:00 to 2:30. The book is about the misadventures of 5 women trying to find their princes in today's dating world, complicated by the antics of a neurotic bulldog, Winchester.

Join us for the next monthly meeting of BOOKTALKERS for grades 5 and up at the library on November 18th at 4:00 p.m. Brush up your skills with chopsticks and enjoy your good fortune at our November meeting. LIKE CATS AND DOGS
Preschool Story Time for ages 3 and up continues through December 8th. Programs are presented by the Washington County Library System and are at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesdays. This fall's theme is Like Cats and Dogs. Finn, the escape artist Border Collie, and Dollie, the registered therapy Chihuahua, have visited with the children so far. Of course, Bubby, the library cat also attends.

Library Closing for a Week for Repairs
The Library will be closed from August 31st through September 7th for repairs to the floor around the circulation desk. All materials can be returned during that time in the book drop as it will be emptied daily with items being checked in. We will reopen Tuesday, September 8th, and the first Preschool Story time will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8th.
Friends of the Library Purchase Kid's Books on CD
Friends of the Library agreed to spend $450.00 for children's books on compact disc for the library. Patrons have requested family friendly books to listen to on trips as adult materials are not always appropriate for everyone. CDs purchased include: Bats at the Beach, Max's Words, Wabi Sabi, Library Mouse, Never Glue Your Friends to Their Chairs, Horse in the House, Never Swipe a Bully's Bear, Because of Winn Dixie, Holes, Shiloh, Highway Cats, Lunch Walks Among Us, Chicken Chasing Queen of Lamar, You Can Do It, Haunted Hike, Mothstorm, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Roderick Rules (Diary of a Wimpy Kid #2), and Speak Spanish with Dora.
